The effect of hair ‘highlights’ on wudhoo’
What is the Sharee‘ah ruling on using hair highlights? I heard a Fatwa here in Saudi Arabia that highlights is a heavy dye that prevents water from reaching the skin, consequently, it renders Wudhoo’ (ablution) invalid.

A hair dye which has no substance that remains tangible on the hair or skin and thus does not prevent water from reaching the organs of Wudhoo’, does not invalidate Wudhoo’. It is like henna that the women of the righteous predecessors used. Any traces of a dye whose substance remains tangible on the body or hair, must be removed. Allaah Knows best.
