Should one not rinse his mouth if this causes him to bleed?
In the Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Ever Merciful I am a 26-year-old Libyan young man. I have told you before that my mouth bleeds when I put water in my mouth while fasting and you answered that it would break my fast. I would like to ask what I should do regarding the prayers. How should I pray without making ablution and rinsing my mouth? Should I fast without praying then make up for the missed prayers at night, or what should I do? May Allaah Reward you.

Rinsing the mouth is an act of the Sunnah according to the majority of scholars. The saying that it is obligatory is restricted to when the person is capable of rinsing his mouth, because the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “ Consequently, there is no harm if you do not rinse your mouth as long as this causes your mouth to bleed.
